We celebrated Diane's day and over $500.00 went to the service dogs.  Diane seemed very happy and Dr. Mayer reflected on when he started at Abell with Dr. Abell, Diane, and Chris.  He remembered how we did tests on little paper strips, how the anesthesia kept the pets asleep for much longer, how no pain management was used, and the technology we now have with digital radiography, laser surgery, laser therapy, and ultrasound.  He remembered when there were very few specialists and referrals were not as common.  He said the one thing that had not changed were the caring people and that Diane was an example of that.  I am glad there is innovation in pet care but as Dr. Mayer says "No one cares how much you know until they know you care".
